Approaching the Qur'an

In the name of Allah the beneficent the most merciful

All praise belong to Allah, we give Him praises, we beseech His help and forgiveness

Blessings and salutations be upon our master muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم

The topic for discuss here is as stated " Approaching the Qur'an" 

The Quran is the final revelation from Allah to the whole of humanity, the only book That is most read, undoctored , resolute and full of eliquence.

The only book that presents itself for total scrutiny وان كنتم في ريب مما نزلنا على عبدنا فأتوا بسورة من مثله وادعوا شهداءكم من دون الله ان كنتم صادقين.

And if you are in doubt concerning that which we have sent down ( Qur'an) to our slave then produce a chapter of the like thereof and call your witnesses besides Allaah if you are truthful. Qur'an 2:23

The only book revealed by Allaah to the unlettered from the desert. Allahu Akbar

The message of the Qur'an is a tauhidi universality because it provides mankind with a complete way of life. From description of natural phenomena and scientific fact from embryology and biology to physics and chemistry, governance in it's total concepts is legislature, judiciary and executive...............

Let's sight some few examples to prove the Qur'an' universality

REPRODUCTION

O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs).

(Al-Hajj 5

Oceanology

 He has set free the two seas meeting together.  There is a barrier between them.  They do not transgress.  (Ar-Rahman 19-20)

This is explained by science as it  being a result of their variable densit, salinity and warmness( temperature)

Psychology

The mention of the forelock and attributing it to falsehoodand fallacy and leads to evil and wrongdoing.

No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock .

A lying, sinning forelock. ( Al-Alaq 15-16)

NB! I have not done any much reading into this lets contact the experts for further explanations.

For business and trade one can refer to verses 282-283 of Qur'an chapter 2( Al- baqara) which gives a comprehensive legal framework of trade.

As to whether we have appreciated and presented the glory of this noble book the answer is NO

Before you ask why? The answer is the undisputed fact around the living conditions of the ummah globally Allah says in suratu Nur vs 55

وَعَدَ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡكُمۡ وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَـيَسۡتَخۡلِفَـنَّهُمۡ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ كَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ دِيۡنَهُمُ الَّذِى ارۡتَضٰى لَهُمۡ وَلَـيُبَدِّلَـنَّهُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِهِمۡ اَمۡنًا ؕ يَعۡبُدُوۡنَنِىۡ لَا يُشۡرِكُوۡنَ بِىۡ شَيۡـئًـا ؕ وَمَنۡ كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذٰ لِكَ فَاُولٰٓـئِكَ هُمُ الۡفٰسِقُوۡنَ‏

(24:55) Allah has promised those of you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely bestow power on them in the land even as He bestowed power on those that preceded them, and that He will firmly establish their religion which He has been pleased to choose for them, and He will replace with security the state of fear that they are in. Let them serve Me and associate none with Me in My Divinity.83 Whoso thereafter engages in unbelief,84 such indeed are the ungodly.

Three things are mentioned here

1. Power

2. Religious firmness

3. Security

The live of the Muslim today is cruelty,inferiority,insecurity abuse of all kind and the list continues.

The only condition stated here is the key message of the Qur'an "TAUHID'" THEY WORSHIP THEE AND ASSOCIATE NOTHING UNTO THEE

وما خلقت الجن والانس الا ليعبدون.And I have created not the jinnkind and mankind except that they worship thee. Suratu zhariyat 56

This means the tribulations we going through today can be attributed to our weak approach to the book of guidance. Guidance we know is an attribute of the Quran

ذالك الكتاب لا ريب فيه هدى للمتقين.
