DESCRIPTION OF ALLAH

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah
As we all know, our topic for this evening is entitled
DESCRIPTION OF ALLAH

ُBy the Star when it goes down, your Companion is neither astray nor being misled, and neither does he speak out of his own desire, that which he conveys to you is but a divine revelation with which he is being Inspired, something that a very Mighty One Has Imparted to him. (Surah Najm ~ Verses 1 to 5
All praise to Allah Who Created the human from soil, He is Allah Who also Made rocks from the soil which can crush the soil, He is Allah Who Created Iron which breaks the rocks, He is Allah Who Created Fire which melts the Iron, He is Allah Who Created WATER which extinguishes the fire, He is Allah Who Created AIR which can carry tons of water as clouds, & He is Allah Who Descends the rain & Gives life to dead soil.
We also send blessings and salutations upon our Noble Prophet Muhammad صَلَّىٰ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ his companions, household and those who follow his footsteps until the day of judgement. It's a privilege for me to present to this noble group once again on the  to topic

 DESCRIPTION OF ALLAH,
Very complicated and broad topic but let's make short and best to our limit
It will be unwise to claim that you love someone but you have no description about that person whom you love.

But today our focus is on description of Allah.
So we shall look at the various verses from the the glorious Quran where Allah Himself has described Himself.
In Islamic theology, God (Arabic: الله, translit. Allāh, contraction of الْإِلٰه al-ilāh, lit. "the god") is the all-powerful and all-knowing creator, sustainer, ordainer and judge of everything in existence. Islam emphasizes that God is strictly singular (tawḥīd): unique (wāḥid), inherently One (aad), also all-merciful and omnipotent. According to Islamic teachings, beyond the Throne and according to the Quran, "No vision can grasp him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things."
Suratul Al-Ikhlas (Quran 112:1-4) describe Allah in the best WAY.
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;,
He begetteth not,
 nor is He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him. Let us try and see what  scholars say about this SURAH. The Reason for the Revelation of this Surah
Imam Ahmad recorrded from Ubayy bin Ka`b that the idolators said to the Prophet, "O Muhammad! Tell us the lineage of your Lord.''

So Allah revealed the above sura to describe whom Allah is .
Ikrimah said,
"When
- the Jews said, `We worship Uzayr, the son of Allah,' and
- the Christians said, `We worship the Messiah (Isa), the
son of Allah,' and
- the Zoroastrians said, `We worship the sun and the
moon,' and
- the idolators said, `We worship idols,'
Allah revealed to His Messenger,
Say: "He is Allah, One.''
meaning,
- He is the One, the Singular,
- Who has no peer,
- no assistant, no rival,
- no equal and none comparable to Him
This word (Al-Ahad) cannot be used for anyone in affirmation except Allah the Mighty and Majestic, because He is perfect in all of His attributes and actions.
Allah As-Samad,
Ikrimah reported that Ibn Abbas said,
"This means the One Who all of the creation depends upon for their needs and their requests.''
Ali bin Abi Talhah reported from Ibn Abbas,
- "He is the Master Who is perfect in His sovereignty,
- the Most Noble Who is perfect in His nobility,
- the Most Magnificent Who is perfect in His magnificence,
- the Most Forbearing Who is perfect in His forbearance,
- the All-Knowing Who is perfect in His knowledge, and
- the Most Wise Who is perfect in His wisdom.
- He is the One Who is perfect in all aspects of nobility and authority.

He is Allah, glory be unto Him. These attributes are not befitting anyone other than Him. He has no coequal and nothing is like Him. Glory be to Allah, the One, the Irresistible.''

He begets not, nor was He begotten
meaning,
He does not have any child, parent or spouse.
And there is non comparable to Him. As Allah says in the interpretation :
Surah Al-Anaam, Verse 101:
Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could He have a son when He has no consort, and He (Himself) created everything, and He is the Knower of all things. Let end our topic with another amazing description of Allah from the Glorious QURAN.
Surah An-Noor, (24:35)
Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.
Conclusion:
Al-Bukhari reported from Amrah bint Abdur-Rahman, who used to stay in the apartment of Aishah, the wife of the Prophet, that Aishah said,
"The Prophet sent a man as the commander of a war
expedition and he used to lead his companions in prayer
with recitation (of the Quran). And he would complete his recitation with the recitation of `Say: He is Allah, One.' So when they returned they mentioned that to the Prophet and he said, Ask him why does he do that?
So they asked him and he said, Because it is the description of Ar-Rahman and I love to recite it. So the Prophet said, "Inform him that Allah the Most High loves him.'' This is how Al-Bukhari recorded this Hadith in his Book of Tawhid. Muslim and An-Nasa'i also recorded it.
We ask Allah to forgive our short comings
Until we meet again Assalamualaikum warahmatullah
