ACHIEVING THE MERCY OF ALLAH

As-salamu alaykum wa RahmatuLlah.

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious the most Merciful

The best of Praises and thanks belong to Allah the Most High. Praises that superior to all other praises like the superiority of Allah over His creatures. We testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone without partners.

We ask Allah to send His Peace, salutations and Blessings upon the Noble Prophet SAW, his household, his companions and the entire Muslim ummah till the day when there shall be no shade except the shade of Allah SWA. May Allah put us under His shade on the day of Qiyamah. Aamen.

Servants of Allah SWA, indeed we have been privileged to be given the mantle to serve as a means of reminder to the ummah of the Prophet SAW. We deem it a great privilege and an honour that has been conferred to us by Allah SWA. It is my prayer that Allah SWA will make us beneficiaries of this National Tour that we are embarking on. May Allah reward the organizers of this initiative and all those who will embark on it. Servants of Allah before I start on the main topic I would like to send each and everyone on a cajoling stint as to why occasions and initiatives likes this will be rewarding to us in this world and in the hereafter.

The Messenger of ALLAH SAW is reported to have said, as narrated by Abu Hurairah RA, that a group of people will not come together in a house from the houses of Allah to recite the Book of Allah and teach each other about except that Allah SWA will descend upon them tranquility and Mercy and they shall be engulfed by His Angels and that Allah will mention them in the midst of the inhabitants of Jannah. So I would like to encourage anyone who is taking part in this initiative, whether as a presenter or as audience that your time spent on this will never go unnoticed by Allah the Most Grateful.

The second is narrated from Muawiyah when the Prophet SAW was teaching his companions RA in a circle of knowledge when three men entered upon them. One of them joined the circle whiles the second sat a bit further away from them. The third did not join them nor sit close to them, he went away. So the Messenger of Allah SAW said to them, shall I inform you of a group of people? The first of them run to Allah so Allah run to him. The second one was shy of Allah so Allah was also shy of him. As for the third he turned away from Allah and Allah turned away from him.

Servants of Allah, as we are having this session to remind ourselves of Allah SWA and also to get ourselves closer to the mercy of Allah we are definitely going to fall within one of these three categories of people. Please let us do our best and be in the category of the one who opened their arms to Allah and Allah also embraced them with His Mercy.

Alhamdu-liLlah, Allah SWA divided His Mercy into a hundred parts servants of Allah. Out of this hundred, servant of Allah, one part of was shared among all creatures and the remaining ninety-nine percent remained with Allah SWA. Ninety-nine percent. Servants of Allah, in one hadith from the Prophet SAW, we are made to aware of the narration in which a mother found her child after moments of desperation.

The Prophet SAW asked his companions if this woman will deliberately put her child into fire and they replied in the negative. The Prophet SAW then made them aware that Allahs Mercy exceeds the mercy of this woman. Servants of Allah not only the mercy of a mother towards her child but the mercy of the creatures of Allah in entirety from the beginning of creation to its end. Allah the most High says in the Glorious Quran, Inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Mercy and it is my punishment which is the most painful of punishment. Hijr 49 50.

Allah tells informs us of His punishment too.  After telling us about His Mercy, He tells us about His punishment. Indeed, Allah is the Most severe in Punishment. But Servants of Allah in order to avoid the punishment of Allah, we need to attain His Mercy and that is our focus for our presentation today. How to attain the Mercy of Allah?

And one of the ways of attaining the Mercy if Allah is through engagements like the one we are having now. May Allah shower upon us His Mercy.

On the day of Qiyamah there are going to be a lot of tribulations and difficulties. On this day a man will run away from his spouse, his friend, his companions and children. Allah makes it known to us that the best of friends on that will become enemies except the pious. When you observe piety in your dealings Allah SWA will have mercy on you and on the day when friends are enemies, you will still remain friends with your fellows who also had piety whiles in this world.

On the day of Qiyamah there shall be no shade for anyone except the Shade of Allah and the only way to attain this shade on the day of Qiyamah has been stated by the Messenger of Allah SAW. If we are able to follow these, Allah SWA will have mercy on us and then add us to those whom He shall shade on the day when there is no shade except the shade of Allah.

One of them is to be just in every situation you find yourself as the leader. Being the leader here doesnt necessarily mean you should be in any position of authority. No thats not what we are talking about, but situation in which you are in charge. You are asked for your school fees by your parents and you give them an amount that is higher than the actual amount or you fail to give you child any kind of Islamic Education. Not being just here could also refer to oppressing those who you are put in charge of. Wallahi even your own self can be denied justice by yourself. And the worst form of injustice that you can met out to yourself is to enter the hell fire on the day of judgement.I dont think I will wrong if I say that most of the members of this group are part of the youthful category. I will therefore use this opportunity to pose this question to all and sundry who have made it a point to drink from the cup of mercy Allah has made available to us by virtue of this lecture. The question is that what have you done during your youthful age to ensure that you will attain the mercy of Allah SWA.

Most of the youth today are very radical. They feel they are on top of the world. They have no regard or respect for anyone. When they get a little secular education they think they are better than their elders. When they gain a little money they think they can control even their parents. And even with those who gain little knowledge concerning the religion, they try be proud and behave arrogantly towards the senior folks of the society. And when you look at all these you will realize that they all stem from the desires of the youth to feel in control when they are not even qualified to be in control. And when we allow our desires to cloud our judgment we will be deprived of the understanding of the religion of Allah. And the religion of Allah is a very Great Mercy which Allah SWA has bestowed upon us. For anyone who upholds his religion, Allah will grant him Jannah through His mercy.

One of the problems that is facing the youth of today is disobedience and disrespect to our parents. We fail to realize the most of the evil that is happening to us is as a result this disrespect we show to our parents. We talk to our parents anyhow, we therefore go to school and we are treated anyhow by our lectures and we dont understand. When evil is about to occur it always happens to us. This is because we are not living our youthful age in service to Allah.

But one of the people whom shall be shaded by Allah by virtue of His mercy is a young person who spends his youth in the service of Allah SWA. How many of us recite the Quran on a daily basis? How many of perform optional salawats regularly? How many of us make it a point to go out and call people to the religion of Allah? How many of us wake up during the night to worship Allah?

Sometimes we think we would change when we grow up and become old. Because at that point we will now realize we are closer to death. Know that, O servant of Allah, 99% of all those old men and women we see to be very pious and religious and to be standing at night calling out to their Lord in fear and hope started these acts when they were in their youthful age. As a result, they will die in these acts at their old age as a mercy from Allah.

Servants of Allah if we want to gain the mercy of Allah, we should love each other for the sake of Allah. How do we love each for the sake of Allah? Some of the ways is that when we met with such a person we meet them for the sake of Allah, we treat them with compassion for the sake of Allah. When we talk about them it is for the sake of Allah. We pray for them and whatever we do for them or with them is for the sake of Allah.

Nowadays we love each other for sake of evil things and things that draw us away from Allah. We fail to realize that loving each other for the sake of Allah will help us to attain the mercy of Allah. Allah is also going to love. And when Allah loves a servant, as narrated from the Prophet SAW, all the inhabitants of Jannah are also going to love such a person and the love of this person shall place in the hearts of the creatures of the world. So you are going to realize that you will treated very well at a place where others are treated harshly and unfairly, this is the Love of Allah. This is the mercy of Allah.

Servants of Allah, we need to fear Allah SWA. For this is the first point of call if we actually want to attain the mercy of ALLah SWA. Do we know why Muslim Society is being oppressed nowadays? Do we know why we are suffering as muslims? Our sisters are not being allowed to wear the hijab, niqab. Brothers are being prevented from leaving their beards at workplaces and other places. Do we know why all these are happening to us. Do we know why our children and siblings in second cycle schools are being maltreated and being prevented from praying or getting good places to pray? Servants of Allah it is because we are denying ourselves of the Mercy of Allah.

And how are we doing that. We are doing that by not fearing Allah. Wallahi we dont fear Allah. Because Allah says that anyone who fears Him, He is going to make a path for him in all situations but why arent we getting ways us of our difficult situations/ the answer is simple. We do not fear Allah. If we want Allah to shower His mercy upon us servants of Allah, please let us fear Allah.

The last thing I am going to mention that will help us to attain the Mercy of Allah is through constant repentance and seeking of forgiveness. Allah SWA loves those who repent and those who seek His forgiveness. If we seek the forgiveness of Allah constantly, He is going to rain upon us His mercy. Allah is going to answer all of our prayers. All our difficulties Allah is going to remove us from them. Allah is going enrich us from His bounties and He is going to bless us with pious children. Children who will be raising our ranks in the Sight of Allah even after our deaths and even their own deaths.

May Allah have mercy on us. May He bestow upon us His Mercy. May Allah forgive us our sins. Yaa Allah we love You. We Love You Yaa Allah. Please endow us with qualities of those who Love you. Yaa Allah let us love You and Your Messenger more than we love everyone and everything else.

O Allah please shower upon us Your Mercy. What a waste our births will be if we dont attain Your Mercy Yaa Allah. Please forgive us and grant us Your Mercy. As-salamu alaykum

In the name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad [Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Aalihee Wa Sallam] is His slave and Messenger.

O you who believe! Fear Allaah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allaah.)

O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person, and from him He created his wife, and from them both He created many men and women, and fear Allaah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship) Surely, Allaah is Ever an All-Watcher over you).

O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allaah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth). He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Aalihee Wa Sallam) he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and made to enter Paradise).

To proceed:

Verily, the best of speech is the book of Allaah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Wa Aalihee Wa Sallam). The worst of affairs are newly-invented matters, and every newly-invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.

As-salaamu 'alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh.

In shaa Allaah, our topic for today is: *How to be a good Muslim

One becomes a good Muslim by identifying the traits of a good Muslim and applying it in his or her life. How then can one identify who a good Muslim is?

Who is a Muslim and Who is a good Muslim is a good Muslim is two completely different things all together and we must know the difference Insha Allah.
