THE SIX ARTICLES OF IIMAN (FAITH) .(BELIEVE IN ALLAH'S ANGELS)

 

We must believe in malaa-ikah (angels) of Allah according to how we are taught by Allah Himself through the agency of the Messenger S.A.W

 Unlike humans the angels are created from a devine light (Nuur) by Allah.

And all the angels are in total obedience of Allah with complete submission.

Each and every angel is created for a purpose.

Some are responsible for sending down rain, others for controlling the mountains, wind, ocean, etc

Some are responsible for protecting the believers, others are for recording the deeds of Man & Jinn.

 Others are purposely for worshipping Allah alone.

All the revealed scriptures sent down to the Messengers through the malaa-ikah (Angel) of Allah.

In short the Angels are servants of Allah who carry's out whatever task is being assigned to them by Allah.

The Angels are NOT sons/ daughters OR chicken of Allah.

They are never be worshipped in any way but they are themselves worshippers of Allah.

The Quran said that;

 

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا ءَامِنُوا بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِن قَبْلُ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا

Meaning;

O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray.Qur'an 4:136

 

Also the angels are servants of Allah. Allah says;

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا قُوٓا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا يَعْصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ

"over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded."Quran 66:6

 

Some angels are ordered to protect humans.

Allah said in the Holy Quran;

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِين

And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers (i.e Angels)

 

 Angels are appointed to write down both bad and good deeds of Man & Jinn. Allah says;

كِرَامًا كَٰتِبِين

Noble and recording

The Angels  also witnessed the oneness of Allah. Allah Ta'alaa Says;

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَة*ُ وَأُولُوا ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيم

"ُAllah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels."

 

The angels are never arrogant!!! The Quran says;

وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُون

And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant.

 

 

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ

 

They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.

 

The angels  don't come on earth 🌍  on their own accord. They're sent to fulfill a command of their Lord. Some brings down rain, others come with the mercy, blessings, tranquillity, glad tidings from Allah. Others are descends with the wrath or chastisement of Allah, sometimes in the form of thunder, earthquake, flooding, storm, etc.

 

مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓا إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ

 

We do not send down the angels except for a just cause.

 

 

We can't possibly finish discussion on what the Qur'an and the ahadith books said concerning the Angels (malaa-ikah)
