THE PRESENT TENSE cont.


بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَكَفَى، وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ      الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَى.
رَبِّ اشْرَحْلِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْلِي أَمْرِي، وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِنْ لِسَانِي، يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي.

THE PRESENT TENSE cont.

In our previous lesson, we discussed the PRESENT tense. Today inshaa Allah, we shall continue with the previous topic.
Consider the verb كتب it's conjugation for the present tense are as follows;
 
 أَكْتُبُ= I write
تَكْتُبُ= you (m) write
يَكْتُبُ= he writes
تَكْتُبِينَ= you (f)  write
تَكْتُبُ= she writes
 
تَكْتُبَانِ= you (two) write
يَِكْتُبَانِ= they (two) write
 
نَكْتُبُ= we write
تَكْتُبُونَ= you (m.p) write
يَكْتُبُونَ= they (m.p) write
يَكْتُبْنَ= they(f.p) write
تَكْتُبْنَ= you (f.p) write
 
NB; A close look at the conjugation reveals that, some letters are added to the beginning of the root word كتب and these letters are; ا، ن،ي، and, ت. These four letters are the letters used to form present tense. The other changes that occur in the word indicate the gender and number.
Pronouns whose verbs begin with;
أ
First person singular for both M and F
i.e  ُأَجْلِس
 
ن
First person plural for all genders
i.e نَجْلِسُ
 
ي
1. Third person singular for  Masculines
i.e ُيَذْهَب
 
2. Third person plural for all genders.
i.e يَذْهَبُونَ ، يَذْهَبْنَ ، يَذْهَبَانِ
 
ت
1. Second person singular for all genders
i.e تَذْهَبُ ،تَذْهَبِينَ،تَذْهَبَانِ ، تَذْهَبْنَ، تَذْهَبُونَ
 
2. Third person singular for feminine
i.e  تَذْهَبُ

The following verbs are given in the past. Change them to the present tense in the first person singular and plural pronouns, and translate ;
 
١.  ذَهَبَ
٢.  شَرِبَ
٣.  أكَلَ
٤.  دَخَلَ
٥. خَرَجَ
