FAITH IN THE ANGELS

 

 

INDEED NON IS WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT HE (ALLAH) ALONE

we ask blessing upon the last prophet,his companions,his household and the muminoon who follows his legacy till the day of Qiyama.

may ALLAH place us among the muminoon and those who follow the commandments of Allah and His prophets

TONIGHT'S TOPIC

FAITH IN THE ANGELS

 

It is not devotion to turn your face towards the east or west to offer prayers but rather true devotion is a muminoon believes in ALLAH, THE LAST DAY,,THE ANGELS,,THE BOOKS AND HIS MESSENGERS

reff:: surah al baqarah(2) verse 177

The messenger believes what was sent down to him from his Lord and so do the believers.

Each one of them believes in ALLAH &HIS MESSENGERS,,THE ANGELS & HIS BOOKS.

ref: surah al baqarah(2) verse 285

In the blessed verses above,The noble Quran guides us to the faith in the angels which is a basic tenet of Eeman as known from the lengthy hadiths of JIBREEL in which He asked Allah's messenger to define Eeman.

  Allah's messenger replied that  It(Eeman) is the believe in Allah,His angels,His messengers,His books,The last day and to believe in AL QADAR (THE GOOD & BAD)

AFFIRMING THE EXISTENCE OF THE ANGELS

They(angels) are creation of Allah and thus are subjects to His Lordship and Worship.

 

Sheikh Al -Fawzan writes in his treaties

( al eeman bil malaaika wa athruhu fi Hayati Ummah)..Angels are a creation of Allah which He created for His worship and to carry out His commands in the universe.

ANGELS are creation from the world of the unseen, we do not see them but we believe in thier existence with certainty without doubts because Allah has informed us about them (angels) and likewise.

His messengers also have enlightened us about them with definite information that causes us to believe in them.

Believe in the Angels precedes belief in the Books to His messengers because Allah revealed the Books to His messengers by means of Angels.

 

DENIEL OF THE EXISTENCE OF ANGELS LEADS TO REJECTION OF ALL THE DEVINE BOOKS AND CONSEQUENTLY,EVERYTHING THAT THE MESSENGERS WERE SENT WITH

Also choosing some angels to believe in over others is disbelief like choosing some prophets over others .

IMAM IBN KHATHEER  writes in the Tafseer of the verse in surah al baqarah (2) :97

"" whoever believes in one messenger is required to believe in all the messengers and whoever rejects one messenger,he has rejected all messengers""

 

Similarly Allah said .verily those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His messengers saying we believe in some but reject others and wish to adopt a way in between.they are in truth disbelieving

Allah decreed that they are disbelievers because they believe in some prophets and rejects others...Allah's messengers includes Angels and men because Allah said it in another verse that ALLAH CHOOSES MESSENGERS FROM ANGELS AND MEN.

CREATION OF THE ANGELS

ANGELS are creation of Allah and were created from light. In sahih muslim it was narrated by A'ISHA(radhi allahu anhaa) that the messenger of Allah said angels are created from light ,,,jinns are created from smokeless flames of fire and Adam was created from that which has been described to you

 

THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH DID NOT EXPLAIN THE EXACT LIGHT WHICH THE ANGELS WERE CREATED FROM HENCE WE CANNOT BRING INTO OUR DISCUSSION.

IT IS A MATTER OF THE UNSEEN AND NO FURTHER CLARIFICATION HAS BEEN MADE ON IT TILL DATE

 

NO MAN KNOWS THE EXACT TIME THE ANGELS WERE CREATED AND ALLAH HAS NOT INFORMED US ABOUT IT BUT WHEN WE TAKE THE STORY OF ADAM (AS) INTO CONSIDERATION THEN WE CAN DEDUCE THAT ANGELS WERE CREATED LONG BEFORE MANKIND.

 

NB the Lord said to the angels that I (Allah) am placing a khalifa ie: mankind on earth (ref:surah al baqarah (2): 30..

So we see from this point that Allah informed the Angels about his intention to create mankind that tells us that the Angels existed before mankind

 

SEEING THE ANGELS

Because the Angels are created from light and are of low density, mankind cannot see them especially since Allah has not given our eyes the ability to see them

 

NB

No man among this ummah has seen an Angel before except the messenger of Allah (prophet Mohamed) SAW

How blessed he was to see an Angel; HE SAW JIBREEL TWICE IN THE FORM WHICH ALLAH CREATED HIM

THIS TELLS US THAT WHEN ANGELS APPEARS IN HUMAN FORM WE ARE ABLE TO SEE THEM

ABILITY TO TAKE ON DIFFERENT FORMS

Allah has bestowed on the Angels the ability to take on different forms.

He sent Jibreel to MARYAM (19:16-19)

IBRAHEEM(11:69)

LOT(11:77) in human form

JIBREEL used to come to the messenger of Allah several times and sometime he came in the form of a Bedouin and sometimes a Dihyah

It was reported that A'ISHA (radhi allahu anha ) saw the prophet placing his hand on the mane of Dihyah al kalbee's horse and was taking to him.

When she asked about it he replied it was JIBREEL and he sends greetings to her

I wish i never finish talking about the Angels for the rest of my entire life  because their stories are very interesting
