Hadith
On
the authority of Abdullah, the son of Umar ibn al-Khattab (ra), who said:
I
heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, "Islam has been built on five
[pillars]: testifying that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and
that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the salah (prayer),
paying the zakat (obligatory charity), making the hajj (pilgrimage) to the
House, and fasting in Ramadan."

Hadith Nawawi 3
English
translation : Hadith 3
Starting
from the narrator....
Abdullah ibn Umar (Arabic: ﻋﺒﺪﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺑﻦ ﻋﻤﺮ ﺑﻦ ﺍﻟﺨﻄﺎﺏ
)
Abdullah ibn Umar (Arabic: ﻋﺒﺪﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺑﻦ ﻋﻤﺮ ﺑﻦ ﺍﻟﺨﻄﺎﺏ
)
He was the son of the second Caliph Umar and
a brother-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He was a prominent authority
in hadith and law , and was known for his neutrality toward factions engaged in
the first civil war within the Muslim community
The young Abdullah had vivid memories of his
father's conversion to Islam. He remembered following him around the town as
Umar declared his conversion to the neighbours and on the steps of the Kaaba .
Ibn Umar asserted, "Although I was very young at the time, I understood
everything I saw." His mother Zaynab also became a Muslim, but his two
stepmothers did not
The family emigrated to Medina in 622. [2]
:218 A few months later, when Muhammad sentenced a pair of adulterers to
lapidation , Ibn Umar was one of the people who threw the stones. Just before
the Battle of Uhud in March 625, Muhammad called Ibn Umar, who was then
fourteen years old, to present himself. But when Ibn Umar appeared, Muhammad
would not allow him to fight in the battle. Two years later, as the Battle of
the Trench approached, Muhammad again called Ibn Umar, and this time he decreed
that the youth was old enough because he was mature and reached puberty. He was
also present at the Battle of Al-Muraysi in 628. Ibn Umar's sister Hafsa
married Muhammad in 625. Muhammad once told her: "Abdullah is a good man.
I wish he prayed the night prayers." After that, every night Abdullah
would pray much and sleep but a little

This is just a little about ibn Umar
We then proceed to the first statements...
"I heard the messenger of Allah say:
Islam has been built on five pillars"
This statement clearly tells us that as a
Muslim, you should know that obeying these
5 is what fulfills your deen.
According to scholars... Contradicting any of
these five principles move you out from the religion.
Again, this statement clearly shows that,
these principles have been already established because the statement literally
is a past statement....
This clearly means that there is a way that
has been established already for the performance of these acts. Adapting your
own way of doing these principles is going against the principles and Islamic
teachings.
1.
testifying that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad
is the messenger of Allah.
Thus statement is the first principle and is
very important as far as Islam is concerned...
Every prophet that came to this world brought
nothing but to enjoy to his people the existence and oneness of Allah
From Adam up to the Muhammad pbuh
No prophet came and tod his followers that he
is God and they should submit to him and mention his name in terms of crises
And it is clear that anyone who do not believe
in Allah and and his messenger would be a losser on thus dunia and in the hear
after....
There is another Hadith in Bukhari where the
prophet pbuh said that the disbelievers
will craw on their faces to jahannam.
Don't give attention to how rich some
disbelievers are. To be the poorest
person on earth and a Muslim is better than being the most richest and a
disbeliever
A Hadith in Bukhari stated that.... *what
ever good the disbelievers do, they will be it reward on this dunia*....
Allah said a very powerful statement in the
Quran that whenever I come across, the fear I have for him increases.
ALLAH SAID :
"I bear witness that there is no God who
is supposed to be worshipped except me, and the angels, and the knowledgeable
people”
This is very powerful..... As Allah and the angels
can bear witness but for mankind, is only those with knowledge that can testify
the existence and oneness of Allah.
A question then arise; what do we mean by
bearing witness about the oneness and existence of Allah?
Brothers and sisters, this can only be
fulfilled by obeying the commands of Allah.
You can't say that you believe whiles you
worship something in addition to Allah.
You
can't say that you believes whiles you consult fortune tellers when you are in
need.
You
can't say that you believe when you welcome people in your room and tell them
about what will happen to them in future and solve their problems for them. Subahannallah
You
can't say that you believe in Allah and you fornicate whiles Allah forbids
fornication.
You
can't say that you believe whiles you decide to stay away from what Allah has
made compulsory on you.
In all, Allah is the most merciful so let turn to him
and we will be forgiven.
- Bearing witness about the Muhammad pbuh as Allah's messenger is one thing we can't avoid as well.
The prophet pbuh upon whose presents the
world was lighted.
Few months after his birth, the people of
Quran were in crises where rain didn't fall on their land for months, They consulted
their gods and and did everything they had to do but there was no avail
They then consulted the prophet pbuh's grand
father and he told them that they should assemble on the mountain the next day
when the sun rises.
All the people assembled and Abdul mutallib
raise the Muhammad up and prayed to Allah to provide them rain for the sake of
his grandson"
Immediately after the prayers, rain started
falling.
This is the prophet of Allah pbuh.
Is through him that the religion of all the
prophets was completed for us.
Whooever of this generation who does not bear
witness that he is the a messenger and servant of Allah is not a Muslim
If we are to talk about this statement, we
will not finish by next year so let us proceed
2.
to establish salaah
This is the next principle that every Muslim
should perform and should perform it well.
Those who perform it well get some scientific
important as well as the rewards from Allah. Example are; it enhance blood seclusion,
release joint pain and others.
Surah Taha, Verse 14:
إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي
وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي
Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I,
therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance:
(English - Shakir)
This means salaah is compulsory for Muslims
except one who is insane and a child
For
those who are eligible..... Allah says
Surah Al-Maun, Verse 4:
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ
So woe to the praying
ones,
(English - Shakir)
Surah Al-Maun, Verse 5:
الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ
Who are unmindful of their prayers,
(English - Shakir)
This is to say that we have to consider.
1. Pray the five daily prayers
2. On time
3. The
way it is suppose to be done. Thus, apply Arkam, waajibaat and sunnah acts
- Paying zakart
This is also compulsory and we should do it
to the best of our ability....
But we will be punish if we do not do even
dough we have the ability to do it....
Surah Al-Muzzammil, Verse
20:
Surely
your Lord knows that you pass in prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, and
(sometimes) half of it, and (sometimes) a third of it, and (also) a party of
those with you; and Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are
not able to do it, so He has turned to you (mercifully), therefore read what is
easy of the Quran. He knows that there must be among you sick, and others who
travel in the land seeking of the bounty of Allah, and others who fight in
Allah's way, therefore read as much of it as is easy (to you), and keep up
prayer and pay the poor-rate and offer to Allah a goodly gift, and whatever of
good you send on beforehand for yourselves, you will find it with Allah; that
is best and greatest in reward; and ask forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is
Forgiving, Merciful.
4.
To perform hajj.
In Hadith and the Quran, It is said that
perform hajj if you have the ability
5. To to fast in the month of Ramadan.
Apart from children, it is obligatory for
every Muslim in good health to fast in the month of Ramadhan
May Allah forgive me for every mistake and
may he reward all of us
Asalaamu alaikum
